The architectural gem designed by Gautschi Lenzin Schenker Architekten is sculpturally elevated. The proud residents are the Lenzin family, who are co-owners of GLS.

The concept of the house on the edge of the forest is based on space and views. The special features of the plot were taken into account accordingly and a direct link to the landscape was established. Neither garden walls nor plants obstruct the view, while the generous glazing at the ends of the building and the layout of the three storeys follow the basic idea of openness. As soon as you enter, the view opens up to the terrace on the attic floor. The well thought-out arrangement of the rooms nevertheless creates a surprising amount of privacy. A courtyard-like seating area, covered access and a roofed outdoor space were created on the ground floor.

The house was built using a glue-free solid wood system in local silver fir and ash. Sawed and Japanese planed surfaces, partially leached and soaped or coloured black, create a varied interplay both inside and out.

Concrete worktops and washbasins made of dade concrete fit in with the material concept. The diffusion-open exterior wall system and the use of glue-free solid wood, together with the lime floor, create a pleasant, high-quality indoor climate and a sustainable construction method.
