Chalet Chic: wooden facades and concrete interiors
Once known informally as huts, “chalets” is now the term used in the Alps.
dade design has been a highly sought-after partner in recent years for projects integrating concrete elements with a contemporary design into these properties. Our work can be found across the Alpine divide from Kitzbühel, Ischgl, St. Anton, Flims Waldhaus, Davos, Lenzerheide and St. Moritz to Gstaad, Verbier and Zermatt.
Concrete with its clear, simple structure makes a perfect contrast to the predominant old timber. The natural material ties in perfectly with the scenery, and its clean lines captivate the eye. dade design projects this year included partnering on the Arlberg1800 – development, an art gallery and holiday apartment complex in St. Christoph. For the annexe to the 5***** building, the architects Kitzmüller planned concrete kitchens and bathrooms with exciting material contrasts, which dade design realised.
