We achieve this by:<br \/>a) avoidance <br \/>b) Neutralization by means of certificates<br \/>c) CO2 Capturing (CCS) (in preparation).<\/p>\n<p>The best way is avoidance. We achieve this e.g. by having our own PV system with electrically powered forklifts, heating\/heat pump, etc.<br \/>Furthermore we buy locally and recycle our waste, especially the formwork wood (about 4 trucks per year!). We try to improve every year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONCRETE &#8211; Responsible for about 8% of global emissions, far more than e.g. shipping.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The concrete ingredients are water, sand, gravel, cement and chemical additives.<\/p>\n<p>Since our concrete plant is located in the Rhine delta, we can obtain most of the raw materials from the immediate vicinity. This is unbeatable in terms of efficiency and sustainability. Our cement, however, comes from Germany. There, it is obtained from limestone by burning it in kilns at around 1200 degrees. This process releases about 44 kg of CO2 per 100 kg of cement, about 2\/3 from a chemical process, the rest from the energy for the kilns.<\/p>\n<p>We live in a time when the environment has a significant place in our thoughts and actions, if we want to keep the world livable for future generations. Our founder and owner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.keel.at\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andy Keel<\/a>\u00a0calls this <strong>#Leadthechange<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With our <strong>initiative for CO2 neutral concrete<\/strong>, we have been breaking new ground for many years. Our goal is to produce entirely CO2 neutral by 2030. This will be achieved by capturing CO2 in concrete. In short #CCS (carbon capturing &amp; storage). In this process, CO2 is poured into the concrete in a bound form and thus permanently stored. <a href=\"https:\/\/dade-design.com\/en\/zero\/\">Lear more about dade ZERO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore &#8211; with the project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.openly.systems\/en\/proof\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OPENLY.SYSTEMS<\/a> dade was leading the first CO2 neutral construction of an apartment building. Therefore we invented and patented a hempcrete prefabrication.
